“The Gold Wine Awards was born out of a need to help the consumer make educated buying decisions and to promote worthy wines.”

With so many wines available these days on the shelves and online customers are very unsure what to buy and if the wine will be value for money. This competition aims to help customers to make informed choices by commending wines that are very reasonably priced and from good value.

The Gold Wine Awards is a consumer-judged competition that awards gold medals to excellent wines at a price of less than R180 to the consumer. Wines are judged by qualified tasters and the results are then statistically correlated to the price to determine whether the wines offer real value for money. The wines are tasted blind in the tastings by the judges so, they do not know the price of the wine or the identification of the wine, so they will therefore judge the wines more fairly.

Once again, we entered the SA Women’s Wine and Spirits Awards this year and we are so proud to announce that we got a GOLD for our Le Pommier Rosé 2020 and for our Le Pommier MAC 2019 Cabernet Franc/ Malbec blend. We are ecstatic about this award! A big thank you to our vineyard & cellar team, without you this would not have been possible.
