LE POMMIER ROSÈ 2018

IN THE VINEYARD
Situation: Banghoek Valley – East and north-south facing row direction.
Altitude: 350m.
Distance From Sea: Approximately 23.5 km.
Soil Type: Gritty sand, scree covering granite, deposits of weathering products of granite.
Age Of Vines: 5-12 years.
Trellising: Verticle hedge.
Pruning: Cordon.
Irrigation: Drip.


THE HARVEST
Picking Date: February 2018.
Yield: 8 tons/ha average.


ANALYSIS
Alcohol: 13.67 %; RS: 1.8; TA: 5.8g/L; pH: 3.14.


IN THE CELLAR
The grapes were de-stemmed and crushed. The juice was immediately pressed and cold settled for 2 days at 8°C.
Thereafter the clear juice was racked off its gross leese and inoculated. After fermentation the wine was left on the fine lees in stainless steel tanks for 6 months.
Malolatic fermentation: None.
Wood Aging: None.
Bottled: September 2018.


AGING SUGGESTIONS
Easily accessible and should be enjoyed now.


FOOD SUGGESTIONS
This is an excellent partner with most white meat dishes.
